The competition is over and we are very happy to share that we have won 3rd place in combined memorials and even 1st place for our Respondent memorial!

We couldn't really believe what we've just heard: 3rd place for best combined memorials in the international competition goes to... Team Hertie School of Governance from Germany! Where is everyone, we suddenly need to go on stage! After winning 1st place in the German national rounds, we were already very happy and thankful for the acknowledgment of our hard word, but being Top 3 in the world is a completely different deal. We can't put in words how happy we are.
Before the moot court national rounds began, each team was required to submit two written memorials (one for the Applicant and one for the Respondent). A memorial is the written legal argumentation presented to the court.
But not enough - the memorial for the Respondent won 1st place in the world! In our written submissions we defeated the best law schools in the world, which makes us as public policy school very proud.

This year was the first time that the Hertie School team made it to the international rounds of the Jessup International Law Moot Court competition.
In Washington, we won two of our preliminary rounds against Israel and Puerto Rico and lost against Belgium and Malaysia.
We congratulate our friends from Munich on advancing to the quarter final and the national administrators Jens and Torben on winning the award for best national rounds! The German national rounds were truly amazing and we enjoyed the perfect organization, therefore the award for best national administrators is nothing less than well earned and deserved.
