Even though we are here to participate in a competition, we have also enjoyed our time in D.C. and used Day 6 for a couple of interesting and fun activities.

The Germans from our team joined the University of Passau, who had placed 3rd at the German Nationals, for a visit to the German Embassy. The advisor to Ambassador Wittig shared some very interesting insights about the work of the embassy. We discussed the impacts of the Trump administration on German and European foreign policy, and the embassy shared some information on how its work has changed with the new US President.

Other team members went on a tour of the US Capitol, including the world-famous Library of Congress. We were also able to write some lines of our master's theses (yes, we almost forgot about those...) in the Library of Congress' stunning reading room!

And what would be a trip to the US without taking in a sporting event? Some team members therefore went to an NBA basketball game, with the Washington Wizards facing the Atlanta Hawks. As there are only few games left and the Wizards are fighting for a ticket to the playoffs, this game was very intense. In the end, the Hawks won narrowly, which made our coach Ana (a huge Atlanta Hawks fan) very happy!
